Privacy Policy
We collect as little information as practical and keep optional analytics off until you choose to enable them.
Effective 12 August 2026
01
Information we process
Near Metro does not require an account for public browsing. Our server and infrastructure providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and security signals so the service can be delivered and protected.
If you contact us, we process the information you choose to send so we can respond and maintain a record of the request.
02
Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4 and PostHog are disabled until you select Accept analytics. If enabled, they help us understand page usage, navigation, outbound clicks, errors, and product performance.
PostHog session replay masks form inputs. Near Metro does not create identified PostHog person profiles, disables advertising personalisation in Google Analytics, and respects browser Do Not Track signals. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy control shown on the site.
03
Cookies and local storage
The site uses essential security mechanisms required by the Phoenix application. Your analytics choice is stored in your browser under near_metro_analytics_consent. Optional analytics cookies are created only after consent and are removed when you withdraw consent where the browser permits it.
04
Third-party services
Interactive maps, analytics, hosting, security, and linked travel services are supplied by independent providers. When your browser requests their resources or you follow an external link, those providers may receive technical information under their own privacy policies.
- Cloudflare for DNS, delivery, and security
- OpenFreeMap, OpenMapTiles, and OpenStreetMap contributors for map presentation and data attribution
- Google Analytics 4 and PostHog only after analytics consent
- External hotel, attraction, mapping, and information providers when you choose to follow their links
05
Retention, choices, and requests
We retain operational and analytics information only as long as reasonably needed for security, product measurement, legal obligations, and troubleshooting. Provider retention periods may differ.
You may decline analytics, withdraw consent, clear browser storage, enable Do Not Track, or contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information associated with a message you sent.
Tell us about anything on Near Metro that looks wrong — a station, a place, an accessibility problem, or how we handle your data.
[email protected]Near Metro is an independent station-first travel guide. Transit geometry comes from OpenStreetMap contributors; accommodation and place details come from their respective providers.
